Publishing and Linking new Articles
This page contains some screenshots for illustrating how to add and link new articles.
However, please note that you cannot delete existing articles, you can only disable them, as you see later on. In cases, where an article shall be completely removed, please drop me an email. (Marcus Ständer)
First you need to login. Usually you would navigate to the page you want to edit and login, using the mask on the upper right page. The mask only appears for pages from the platform or community menu.
Editing an Existing Article
If you want to edit an existing article, press the edit button an the displayed page on the upper right.
You can now edit the page using a WYSIWYG-Editor as shown in the screenshors or edit the HML code by pressing the button with the red <> sign on it. In cases where you do not want that an article is available to publicity, you have to unpublish it. See red mark in the figure above. In cases when you want to completely remove an article, please contact me (Marcus Ständer), since the Joomla! publication system does not foresee this case. I remove it for you.
Submitting a new Article
When you want to submit a new article, use the highlighted link on the lower left. You can now start editing details and content of your article.
One of the things you really should do is setting the proper section and category. This also makes it easier to link the article later on. If you miss a section or category, please tell me (Marcus Ständer), since the system prevents publisher of creating new sections or categories.
Linking your article
When you finished your article, it is time to link it. Just navigate to the article where it shall be linked, write a text, mark the part that shall be the link and press the marked link-button.
In the form, which pops up, you navigate through over "content" to your section and then the category. There you will find your article.
Images
The best written article often looks boring when there are no figures or images inside. You can add images by pressing the image-button in the editor. The media system is organized in folders, as shown in the previous screenshot. Click on the folders-structure on the left to enter a folder. You can add a new folder using the marked button on the right side of the page.
Finally, when you reached your folder, you can select or upload images. For uploading, use the button on the right page.
